**Sparring (Gyoroogi) Rules

All competitors/levels over 17 years old will be permitted to kick to the head and facial area. No head contact for Color Belts 17 and under. All Color Belt divisions over 17 and Black Belts age 12-13 will receive 2 points for a controlled kick to the head, 2 points for spinning kicks to the body and 1 point for legal body kicks and punches.

Black Belts age 14 + will follow a modified set of WTF rules, including 3 points for head kicks, 2 points for spinning kicks to the body and 1 point for legal body kicks and punches. For all sparring matches, a sudden death round will be used in the event of a tie score at the end of the final round.

Additional details will be covered in the competition day at 9:00 am in the mandatory coaches and officials meeting.

Black Belts ages 14-17 and 33+ may compete in the 18-32 age group. If competing in more than one age category, please add $55 to your registration fees.

For all competition, it is required that all competitors choose divisions that are all consistent in age and rank except for those Black Belts competing in more than one Sparring division.

Mandatory Equipment

Taekwondo uniform in good condition. Protective gear: chest protector, head gear, shininstep guards, forearm guards and groin cup. Mouthpiece is required. No eyeglasses or safety glasses of any kind will be permitted for sparring.

**Forms (Poomsae) Format

Color Belt Forms competitors compete two at a time.

Black Belt Forms competitors will compete one at a time.

**Breaking (Kyukpa)

3-Station break. ALL WOOD MUST BE PURCHASED AT THE TOURNAMENT FOR FAIRNESS AND UNIFORMITY
